All About Me

Hey there!

 

I'm Brenda Baker, a proud mama of two adult daughters, a children's book author and poet, dog lover, and Nationally Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach and NASM certified Personal Trainer. With over 6 years in the wellness profession, and a lifetime of overcoming personal health challenges like obesity, Celiac disease, autoimmune conditions, and EDS hypermobility, I know firsthand what it's like to feel trapped in your own body. As a child I was chronically ill with migraines, digestive issues, chronic ear infections, and a whole host of other maladies. As a young adult, I struggled with obesity and malnutrition (yes, at the same time). As a grown woman, I've lost almost 100lbs naturally and have kept it off for two decades, no matter what life has thrown my way. Migraines that used to debilitate me are a thing of the past, and I wake every morning with gratitude in my heart and a deeply rooted desire to guide others through their toughest obstacles.

 

These days, my food is my medicine, my mindfulness practice is non-negotiable, and I finally understand what an incredible thing it is to have excellent health. I'm an avid weightlifter with focus on building functional muscle and mobility so that my body works for me despite being hypermobile. I prepare the foods my body loves, and I take care to remember why I'm choosing to feed myself well every day. The alternative is a road I will never experience again.

 

I understand how challenging it is to navigate the daily struggle of trying to make a change in how to eat, how to work through food intolerances, how to manage gut issues and allergies, and how debilitating it can be to struggle with autoimmune flares. I've done elimination diets, bloodwork, testing, and spent years improving my gut health due to previously undiagnosed Celiac disease and food intolerances. I know what it's like to have to work so hard just to be able to function through daily tasks. And I know how heartbreaking it is to feel chronically exhausted, ill, confused, and fed up.

 

I've been there.

 

I've made it through what once felt impossible. And then I did more. I went on to learn how to teach you how to do it, too.

 

My health coaching education focused extensively on over 100 dietary theories, positive psychology of habit change and functional exercise to increase both mental and physical strength to provide a unique, bespoke experience to every client. From nutrition to sustainable habit change, to functional movement restoration, to accountability and education, I provide one-on-one holistic health coaching to busy professionals to make wellness simple.

 

At the foundation of my methodology is the belief that what works for one person doesn't necessarily work for every person. And with that foundation we work together, one-on-one and step-by-step to help transform your life from exhausted, confused, and overwhelmed, to feeling reclaimed vitality, clarity, and confidence. Together, we’ll work to reduce toxic stress so you can fully embrace the freedom of living well as we construct a solid, completely customized plan to achieve your individual vision of wellness and sustain positive life changing results.


With an integrated approach that combines self-reflection, education, accountability, and realistic sustainable change techniques, we'll work together side-by-side to help you live a life you love.
